Description:
The SPACE Trust is a small local charity working to support families who have been homeless or threatened with homelessness as they start to rebuild a home. Our primary activity is the collection of quality used furniture from residential homes around the city and the delivery of this furniture to people in need.
The Trust employs 4 staff on a part time basis, work with an external fundraiser and around 20 volunteers. We are looking for a dynamic person to cover maternity leave for the Operations Manager. The person will report to a member of the Board of Directors. He/she will manage 3+ staff, volunteers and consultants. He/she will require 3yrs+ management experience. Knowledge of homelessness issues and/or furniture re-use will be an advantage.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In coordination with Trustees, input into the development of the SPACE Trust strategy;
• Ensure ongoing staff development;
• In coordination with Trustees and consultant/s, raise funds for the operations of the Trust;
• Ensure there is an appropriate amount and quality of furniture available for clients;
• Promote and develop the work of the organisation through networking with other organisations;
• Prepare monthly reports for Trustees and other reports as required for donors and others;
• Ensure accurate paper and electronic filling of Trust documentation;
• Ensure staff and volunteers are aware and abide by Health and Safety regulations in the workplace;
• In collaboration with Trustees, prepare and monitor annual budgets;
• Participate in regular Trustee meetings
• Any other task relevant to the job requested by the Trustees.

SOFA Project are developing a new initiative, SOFA Office, to improve the re-use and recycling of office furniture. We are looking for a group of volunteers to join our team here at Tyntesfield. An opportunity to be part of a new project recording local people's stories. Time commitments are flexible (minimum half day per month) and all training will be either at weekends or evenings. Volunteers can arrange their volunteering days with their line manager around other commitments.
Description:
We are recruiting for volunteers in two roles, Tyntesfield Stories Volunteer (Information) and Tyntesfield Stories Volunteer (Digital Media). These volunteers will be part of a team to record local people's stories about Tyntesfield and make them accessible to the public. Full training will be provided including filming, editing, interview skills and using databases. The digital media volunteers will work with other Tyntesfield Stories volunteers to film and edit new oral history recordings and to support the uploading of clips to the Tyntesfield Stories website. The information volunteers will keep Tyntesfield’s records of local people’s stories up to date and support the recording of new oral history recordings. They will also support researchers and students looking for information about Tyntesfield’s stories through supporting access to the available information.
These roles will suit people who…
• Are friendly and have good communication skills (able to put people at ease)
• Have an interest/experience in working with digital media (Experience very welcome but full training will be given)
• Have an interest in the history of Tyntesfield
• Have the ability to work well in a team

Easton Community Children's Centre is looking for you. We require a qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioner. We are a registered charity and community led independent children's centre serving the Easton and Lawrence Hill areas of Bristol.
